The Importance of Sunnah in Islam

The Importance of Sunnah in Islam

The path of sunnah is the path of salvation. If we follow prophet (PBUH) in every aspect of our life, we are guaranteed to succeed in both this world and the hereafter.

Allah (SBT) says in the holy Quran“…And whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain (therefrom)…” (59: 7).
There is no doubt that Quran is the fundamental source of guidance for Muslims but interpreting Quranic verses according to one’s own needs and wishes results in misguidance. This is the reason that Allah (SBT) send the Prophet (PBUH) to interpret the holy book and offer a living example for all human being to come. The Sunnah is the explanation of the Qur'an.

Whoever obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys Allah, and whoever turns back, so We have not sent you as a keeper over them. (Surah An-Nisa, 80).
By following sunnah a believer get close to Allah and he attains love of Allah. The more we follow the sunnah of Prophet (PBUH), the higher rank we get. It is common among Aulia of Allah (friends ofAllah) that they strictly follow sunnah in all aspects of their lives. If you want to find a true wali Ullah, this is the criteria to judge them. We needs to learn about the sunnah of prophet (PBUH) and follow these sunnah.

There are some sunnahs which were common among all Prophets of Allah (SBT) Here are a few of these sunnah’s:

1- Use of Miswak to clean teach. It is also sunnah to do Miswak after waking up.
2- Use of Itter (perfume which is alcohol free).
3- To keep beard (according to all four imams it is wajib to keep beard which means we are in a state of sin, if we don’t keep beard. Imama Ghazali calls a person without beard a fasiq (disobedient).
4- To arrange nikah (marriage bond).

Let us all make to dua to Allah (SBT) to give us taufeeq (guidance) to follow the sunnah of Prophet (PBUH) in all matters of our lives.

Caring for the Orphans

It is a great virtue to care and bring up an orphan.
It is related by Sahl ibn Saad Razi ALLAH Anhu that Rasulullah Muhammad said

"Whoever supports an orphan from among his own or any other family; he will be as close to me in Heaven as these fingers are close to each other."
Sahl Razi ALLAH Anhu says that Rasulullah made a motion of his index and middle fingers (while he said this) and there was only a little space between the two.

What a huge reward this is. The abode in the highest level of Jannat with Prophet (PBUH) is the greatest privilege a person can have. How much we spend to buy and decorate our new houses in this world, though this life is not even equivalent to a second compared to the life in the hereafter. Dear brother and sisters, this is the most valuable investment we can ever have.
Abu Hurairah Razi ALLAH Anhu reports that the Messenger of Allah stated

"Whoever caresses the head of an orphan (in affection), solely for the sake of Allah, a good deed will be written to his account for every hair over which he passed his hand, and whoever treated an orphan (boy or girl) with goodness and kindness, he and I will be close to each-other in Heaven as these two fingers"

Let us make our eternal abode in the hereafter in the company of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) by sponsoring an orphan.

We can all commit to sponsor one orphan at least, to gain abundant reward from Allah (SBT). Please visit the page below to start sponsoring a child now. We should not delay in acts of piety, so do it today.

The Importance of Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

The foundation of Shariah, path and tasawaf is to follow th sunnah of Prophet Muhmmad (PBUH). It is also the beginning and end of all stages of closeness of Allah. The beginning of the love of Allah depends on firm following of the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH) and it also leads to the culmination of love of Allah. This is why Allah has made it compulsory to follow sunnah of his Prophet (PBUH) to attain His love. Allah says in Holy Quran when you will follow the sunnah of my beloved Prophet, I will bless you with my love. Therefore, both beginning and peak of love of Allah lies in treading the path of sunnah.

Sheikh ul Arab and Ajam, Haji Imdad Ullah Makki (RA) says that it possible to attain closeness of Allah quickly in our path, as great emphasis is laid on following the sunnah of Prophet (PBUH). If we start following the blessed sunnah of Prophet (PBUH), the distance from Allah will turn in his closeness and all problems of the Ummah will be solved.

If believers become fond of the footsteps of Holy Prophet (PBUH), the treasures of world will be in their feet
If the Ummah starts sunnah of Prophet (PBUH), its ship will get out of storms of trouble. (Shah Hakim Muhammad Akhtar (DB)

How to Attain Love of Allah (SBT)

How to Attain Love of Allah (SBT)

Love for Allah is the first and foremost goal of all believers. How can we please Allah? How can we achieve love of Allah? And how can we get close to Allah? These are the fundamental questions we need to find answers to. Success in this life and the hereafter lies in pleasure of Allah. There are many different deeds, izkaar and worships we carry out to attain love of Allah. Sufi’s spend their lives in pursuit of this supreme goal to gain love of Allah. What is the best way to achieve love of Allah? What is the shortcut route? How can we please our lord as quickly as possible? The answer to all these questions is very simple, yet very few of us benefit from this.

Allah Almighty says, "Say: 'If you love Allah, then follow me and Allah will love you and forgive you for your wrong actions, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (3:31).

To follow the sunnat of prophet (PBUH) is the key to attain Allah’s love. Dear brothers and sisters, keep this golden command of Allah (SBT) in mind and it will become easy to attain love of Allah (SBT). We always hear in Juma Khutba and all other Khutbas before speeches by religious scholars that the best way is that of Prophet (PBUH) but we still deviate from the path of Prophet (PBUM). Read about the life of Prophet (PBUH), his appearance, how he dressed, how he used to eat, drink, speak and Walk etc and just simply follow him. This is the best path in the eyes of Allah (SBT). Imam Ghazali (RA) doing the outward deeds leads to love inside your heart. Keeping beard is not only the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH), it is the sunnah of all Prophets of Allah. What a highest honour we have, if we follow this easy sunnah.

There are endless deeds performed by religious scholars and great people of their age but none has any worth compared to a single sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). The path of sunnah is approved by Allah and all other paths are rejected. Sunnah of prophet (PBUH0 is noor and rest is utter darkness. Learn how our beloved Prophet (PBUH) used to perform salah, what he used to read after namaz, what are the supplications of Prophet (PBUH) for certain occasions. If we follow his path, we will attain love of Allah (SBT) and succeed.

Remember Allah (SBT) loves his beloved Prophet (PBUH) and he who follows sunnah of Prophet (PBUH) become someone Allah loves.
